Background

A woman claimed that she had fallen on a Long Island City sidewalk close to a parking lot used by our client, a concrete contractor. She sought very significant damages for her personal injury and obtained some compensation from other parties.

The Challenge

Our clients were the individual owners of the realty and businesses in the area. We were tasked with extricating them from a situation which they had nothing to do with.

The Solution

By careful assessment of the location of the alleged fall – in relationship to the various properties and businesses – we were able to frame the defense based upon the impossibility of any possible role for our clients.

The Result

After an extensive jury trial we obtained a defendants’ verdict.
